About Kelly McCarthy
Kelly McCarthy founded Reelwriter.net in 2002. She has interviewed such film artists as Robert Duvall, Barry Levinson, James Foley, Ismail Merchant, Paul Mazursky, Ivan Reitman, Sean Hepburn Ferrer, Eva Gardos, Melanie Mayron, Mary Kay Place, Kay Chapin, John Waters, Philip Kaufman, James Redford and Jonathan Silverman. Most recently, McCarthy served as associate editor of Main Line Today magazine, a city/regional publication covering the Main Line and Western suburbs of Philadelphia. In recent features she interviewed author and public speaker Julie Nixon Eisenhower and actor Bradley Whitford of NBC's The West Wing. From January 2001 to January 2002 McCarthy served as the assistant editor of Directors & Boards magazine, the leading corporate governance journal since 1976. Feature articles included interviews with Henry Paulson, CEO of Goldman Sachs Group; William H. Gray III, president and CEO of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF); former Secretary of Defense, William S. Cohen and Bob Woodward of the Washington Post. McCarthy is a former contributing writer of International Film Festival magazine (IFF). Additional writing credits include Philadelphia magazine, CityPaper, Main Line Times and Swimming World magazine. In 2001 a speech written by McCarthy memorializing the events of 9/11 was broadcast nationally from Philadelphia by WHYY TV 12 public television. McCarthy is an actress and is a member of the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA).
